Deep Oscillation Therapy treatment at Richmond Park Therapies

Deep Oscillation Therapy at Richmond Park Therapies

I'm very pleased to now be offering Deep Oscillation Therapy at Richmond Park Therapies — a gentle, non-invasive treatment increasingly used within medical rehabilitation, lymphatic care, pain management, and post-surgical recovery.

Despite the name sounding rather technical, treatment itself is actually extremely soothing and relaxing to receive.

Deep Oscillation works by creating gentle electrostatic oscillations within the tissues. Unlike many therapies which work primarily on the surface, these oscillations can penetrate deeply — up to approximately 8cm through the skin, subcutaneous tissues, lymphatic structures, and musculature — helping support the body's natural healing and restorative processes.

How Deep Oscillation Therapy May Help

Deep Oscillation Therapy can support the body in a number of ways, including:

Supporting Lymphatic Drainage The gentle oscillations help stimulate lymphatic flow, encouraging movement of excess fluid and reducing stagnation within the tissues. This can be particularly beneficial where there is swelling, congestion, or fluid retention. When used alongside Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage, the two approaches can complement each other particularly well.

Improving Circulation & Tissue Health Treatment helps enhance microcirculation, improving delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues whilst assisting removal of metabolic waste products and inflammatory substances.

Calming Inflammation Deep Oscillation is widely used to help soothe irritated or inflamed tissues and may assist in reducing inflammatory responses within the body.

Softening Fibrosis & Scar Tissue One of the areas Deep Oscillation is especially valued for is its ability to help soften fibrotic or hardened tissues, including post-surgical fibrosis and scarring associated with lymphatic conditions such as lymphoedema, or following injury or burns.

Pain Relief & Relaxation Treatment may help reduce muscular tension and discomfort by calming sensitised tissues and reducing the perception of discomfort.

Skin & Tissue Rejuvenation Deep Oscillation is also used within aesthetic and restorative care to may support collagen synthesis, skin elasticity, tissue mobility, and overall skin health.

Conditions & Clinical Applications

Deep Oscillation Therapy may be beneficial as part of a wider treatment plan for:

  • Lymphoedema management

  • Lipoedema support

  • Post-surgical recovery

  • Swelling, bruising & oedema

  • Fibrosis & scar tissue management

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Chronic pain conditions

  • Muscular tension & soft tissue injuries

  • Tendon irritation & overuse injuries

  • Wound healing support

  • Neuro-rehabilitation support

  • Respiratory conditions involving mucus congestion

Within post-surgical recovery, Deep Oscillation may help support healing, reduce swelling and bruising, improve tissue mobility, and minimise fibrosis formation.

For those living with fibromyalgia or persistent pain conditions, many people find the treatment calming and easier to tolerate than more intensive manual therapies.

A Gentle Yet Versatile Therapy

One of the things I particularly value about Deep Oscillation Therapy is its versatility. It can often be used in situations where tissues are too painful, inflamed, delicate, or reactive for more intensive hands-on treatment approaches.

As always, treatments at Richmond Park Therapies are tailored carefully to the individual, taking into account your medical history, symptoms, sensitivities, and goals for treatment.

If you would like to find out whether Deep Oscillation Therapy may be appropriate for you, please do feel free to get in touch — I'd be happy to talk through whether it might be a suitable option for you.
