Prioritising self-care and being our own heroes/heroines are both concepts we tend to loose sight of in adulthood; only if we are lucky, to rediscover again in later life.
Complementary Therapies are thus named because they complement conventional medical approaches to maintaining health. Building regular massage or reflexology in to your self-care routine is one of the best (and let's face it, most pleasurable) ways to re-set the body, provide mental space and focus on long-term well-being. It is of no coincidence that many highly successful people in all walks of life use regular massage therapy to stay at the top of their game. I think the 8 year old child who wrote the statement above will soon be joining them.
